Myles started his hair career in high school in Wainwright, Alberta. After graduating, he moved to Lethbridge, Alberta, where he attended hair school. Since 2005, he has been a hairstylist, and has taken numerous courses to further his education. He is a master barber, colorist, and stylist. He is also certified in cutting ethnic hair, and is an Aqua Hair Tape-In Extension Tech and Aqua Hair Hand-Tied Weft certified stylist. He loves continuing his education and is currently immersed in Milk_Shake Hair Color and Care products. He has also taken social media and business classes to improve his overall skills. Myles loves doing tight fades, flat tops, and straight razor shaves for his male clients. For his female clients, he loves the complete makeover effect, making them feel like goddesses! Myles and his husband moved to Nanaimo in search of a more relaxed lifestyle where he can share his passion for hair and makeup. In his free time, Myles enjoys hiking, playing video games, and playing Dungeons and Dragons. He is proud to be a nerd!

Desirée is a 20+ year experienced Master Esthetician and Nail Technician specializing in a holistic approach to diabetic hand and foot care with certification in Pedology. She grew up on Vancouver Island and started her career in 2000 by attending Esthetics School in beautiful Duncan, BC. In 2005, she completed an additional certification in Nail Technology in Victoria BC where she owned and operated a spa for over 10 years. Desirée is also highly skilled and trained in the art of bridal and glamorous special event makeup application, and has worked in many top salons and spas on Vancouver Island.
Desirée is enthusiastic about Nanaimo’s diverse theatre and arts community. She is a proud supporter of local musicians, dancers entertainers and greatly enjoys a variety of performances held in our local theatres across Vancouver Island in her spare time, she also teaches Highland dance to her daughter carrying a tradition from her childhood
In recent years, Desirée has become increasingly passionate about the Ayurvedic journey towards overall wellness derived from hot and cold stone, as well as massage techniques within facials and full body relaxation massage. She is excited to bring many new amazing techniques to A Vivid Edge Salon & Spa!
Little Cullen is Myles' Adoptive Nephew
with a heavy heart we want to share the story of a courageous 6-year-old boy named Cullen the son of a USA Veteran and a loving mother who stays home caring for Cullen and his sister. Cullen has been diagnosed with Severe Aplastic Anemia, a rare and life-threatening blood disorder Aplastic anemia is a condition that occurs when your body stops producing enough new blood cells. The condition leaves you fatigued and more prone to infections and uncontrolled bleeding. Which has weakened his immune system and left him in need of a bone marrow transplant, without a bonemarrow transplant he will unfortunately have on average 5 years to live.
